A man and a woman have been arrested in Southern California for allegedly kidnapping the female suspect’s four relatives, including her own mother, six-month-old son and 14-year-old sister, during a violent home invasion, police said.

Officers found the teenager and the infant unharmed inside a hotel room in Costa Mesa early Thursday after the two adults who also were kidnapped managed to escape from their captors and call 911, according to the Westminster Police Department.

The suspects, Michael Rodriguez, 26, and Bich Dao Vo, 30, aka Michelle Rodriguez, were caught Thursday during a traffic stop and jailed on suspicion of kidnapping, assault with a firearm, robbery, false imprisonment, child endangerment and felon in possession of a firearm.

Authorities revealed that Dao Vo is the daughter of the adult female victim, the mother of the baby and the older sister of the teenage girl, reported The Orange County Register.

Westminster police said Rodriguez and Dao Vo were armed with a handgun when they forced their way into the family’s home in the 14300 block of Pine Street and demanded $60,000 in cash.

Rodriguez allegedly pistol-whipped Dao Vo’s mother and her son-in-law when no money was found.

The suspects then forced the two adults and two children into a U-Haul cargo van at gunpoint and drove them to the Costa Mesa hotel, where they threatened to kill them if they didn’t get money, Westminster police said.

The adults were able to escape the hotel room, leaving the two children behind, and returned to their home, where they called 911. Officers found them both bleeding from head injuries, police said.

Cops were able to rescue the children from the hotel and later found a loaded .40-caliber handgun and a loaded AK-47-style rifle inside the cargo van after the suspects were taken into custody.

Rodriguez was ordered held on $1 million bail. Dao Vo’s bail was set at $100,000. Both are due in court later this week.
