A 9-year-old girl was reportedly shot when gunfire rang out at a mall northeast of Los Angeles on Tuesday night.
The shooting occurred near a Barnes & Noble store at the Mall of Victor Valley in Victorville at about 6:30 p.m., according to KABC-TV.
Shoppers and workers hunkered down in stores as the mall went into lockdown, the station said.
The young victim was reportedly taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
The girl was taken to the hospital, her condition is unknown. KABC-TVNo other injuries were immediately reported.
The suspect remained on the loose.
The mall is about 80 miles outside of LA in San Bernardino County.
