A California woman was busted for duct taping a comically forged license plate in the back of an allegedly stolen car.

The driver, Angel Rachiene Bolton 38, was arrested early Friday morning by cops in Benicia, Calif., for brazenly hand-writing license plate numbers with a thick-black marker on what appears to be printer paper and taping it to the back of a silver Kia Rio LX.

“We know we are not superheroes, but just FYI this is NOT a way to get one over on us,” the Benica PD wrote on Facebook.

“At about 1 a.m. today, one of our officers was patrolling the area of 5000 block of East 2nd Street when he saw this beautifully handwritten license plate on a car. A quick check of the vehicle showed that it was reported stolen out of Alameda.”

The numbers on the right side of the mocked up “plate” were somewhat smaller than those on the left — apparently because the artist ran out of room trying to squeeze them in.

To make matters worse, the counterfeit plate’s tags were expired.

In the top right corner of the plate was penned “JAN 2023,” where the expiration date on a real registration sticker would be.

Bolton was arrested without incident and taken to Solano County Jail, police said. She was charged with felony possession of a stolen vehicle and misdemeanor possession of “unlawful paraphernalia,”

She could not be reached for comment Saturday.

Her arrest was first reported by SFGate.

A passenger, a 30-year-old man from Alameda whom police did not immediately identify, was also arrested andbooked for possessing a controlled substance, allegedly a narcotics pipe.

Police said the passenger had three out-of-county warrants out for his arrest, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
