Captain America and Spiderman were involved in a wild brawl on the streets of Hollywood yesterday.
But this was no movie.
Impersonators dressed as the superheroes threw punches outside the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard during a fight over tourist “harassment” and sidewalk real estate, according to CBS affiliate KCAL9.
“All of a sudden, two Captain Americas and Spider-Man started circling around me. Captain America just hit one of them and Spider-Man started bleeding,” witness Vernardo Stroud told KCAL9.
“I was stunned at the moment. Then all of a sudden, it just got to me…I got to get them out of the way. The tourists just looked around like they were enjoying the moment.”
Batman impersonator AC Simmons said a new breed of impersonators are causing problems by “strong-arming” tourists and demanding $20 tips for photos.
Captain America, aka Juan Diego, admitted to being involved in the brawl.
“I tell them the truth. I tell them, ‘You’re a thief!’ said Diego, who is a Spanish national.
