Carnival Cruise Line convinced a Virginia teen to trade in his Snapchat handle — in exchange for an all-expenses-paid trip for his family, according to a new report.

Darian Lipscomb, 15, of Prospect, is a Carnival enthusiast who has had dibs on the Snapchat handle @CarnivalCruise for six years, The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported.

“When I was 9 years old, I went on a cruise and got really excited and wanted to share it with my friends,” Darian told the paper.

Since 2012, Darian, who has been on four Carnival cruises, has used the handle to share snaps of his experiences on the line, including tubing and zip-lining.

But Carnival — hoping to claim its own name on the social media platform — traveled to Darian’s hometown, and launched a poster campaign along local roads to help them track down the teen, the paper reported.

“Hey Prospect, does anyone know Darian?” said the signs, which featured a photo of Carnival’s so-called “chief fun officer,” retired NBA star Shaquille O’Neal.

Then on Tuesday night, Carnival representatives showed up at Darian’s door and offered his family a free trip aboard the company’s newest ship, Carnival Horizon, in exchange for his Snapchat handle.

“I answered the door, walked outside and saw my name on a big truck. I was really surprised,” Darian told the paper.

He accepted the offer, and the family will fly to Barcelona for the ship’s maiden voyage on Saturday. The entire trip is valued at $5,000, plus flights, hotels and other special surprises the cruise line has in store for its biggest fan.

“We thought this would be a fun way to claim our handle and reward a ‘superfan’ at the same time,” Carnival spokeswoman Robyn Fink told the paper, describing the trip as a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience.

Darian has yet to decide on a new handle for his own Snapchat account, he told the paper.

“I’ll have to think up another name,” he joked. “Maybe another company name.”
