Dramatic footage shows the chaotic moment a frustrated driver ran over the leg of a “No Kings” protester who was trying to block the vehicle’s path in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday.

The woman confronts a burgundy sedan with what appears to be California plates at an intersection, and first stands in front of the car and puts her hands on the hood, according to video circulating on X.

The car rolls slowly toward the protester, who doesn’t move and makes an attempt to shove the vehicle back.

The driver of the sedan, which had the green light, then speeds up and the demonstrator, who appears to be in her early 20s, goes tumbling to the ground before the car’s front right wheel rolls over her lower leg.

Police are investigating the incident, which occurred at 5th and Hills streets, as a hit-and-run, according to KTLA.

The video shows the woman screaming in pain. Another protester tried to obstruct the car, but he managed to move out of the way before it barreled over him.

After the car rolls over the woman’s leg, the driver of the car flees as other protesters rush over and try to offer aid. The video shows that there is also an occupant in the passenger seat.

A police helicopter was seen flying over the scene of the hit-and-run, presumably to look for the suspect, according to KTLA. There are no arrests and the incident remains under investigation.

The Los Angeles “No Kings” demonstration was part of a wave of similar anti-President Trump rallies across the US that coincided with the US Army’s 250th anniversary military parade in Washington, DC, over the weekend.

Tensions have been high in Los Angeles and across the country as people have taken to the streets to protest ICE immigration raids.

Los Angeles fire officials said the victim was hit by a motorist driving at a slow speed and suffered an “isolated lower extremity injury,” according to a news release.

The victim, whose name was not released by officials, was listed in stable condition.
