Charges were dropped Monday against a California teacher who was caught on camera last year repeatedly punching a student who called him the N-word, a report said.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office dismissed the child abuse case against Marston Riley, 65, citing a number of factors, including Riley’s clean record and good behavior after the clash, according to NBC News.

Riley, who taught at Maywood Academy High School near Los Angeles, was arrested in November 2018. Soon after, he was forced to retire.

Cellphone video of the incident shows Riley standing face to face with the 14-year-old boy at the front of the class before throwing a punch at him. The teen slugs Riley in retaliation before the teacher unloads on the student until he ends up on the classroom floor.

Following the incident, some students, parents and teachers defended Riley on social media — blaming the student for using racial slurs against him.

A GoFundMe page was even set up for Riley, which raised over $190,000.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office told NBC News that after his arrest, Riley completed a 10-week anger management course, which also contributed to the dismissal of his case.
