This charred hull is all that remains of the Conception after a devastating Sept. 2 blaze killed 34 people on board.

The burned ruins of the doomed California dive boat were brought to the surface by a salvage team off the coast of Santa Barbara on Thursday, 10 days after an inferno broke out on the vessel.

A newly released National Transportation and Safety Board report found all five crew members were asleep when the fire broke out on the 79-foot scuba diving boat in the early hours of the morning.

The boat — which was ferrying passengers on the last legs of a three-day diving excursion — also had no night watchman on duty to alert passengers of the disaster, authorities said.

The victims — 33 passengers and one crew member — were asleep in a section below the deck and had no way to escape, authorities said.

A probe being conducted by the US attorney’s office in Los Angeles, the Coast Guard and the FBI is expected to last a year.
