The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce won’t be bragging about the Windy City winning this title: It’s the nation’s “rat capital.”

According to a study by apartment-search service RentHop, the city received 50,963 rat complaints last year. New York came in a distant second, followed by Washington, DC, and then Boston.

The study suggests dogs are to blame. The higher the concentration of dog poop, the bigger the number of rat complaints, the report said.
