Police have released a chilling photo of the moment a shooter pulled a gun on a 27-year-old woman while she was driving on the highway.

The victim told police she was heading west Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 70 in St. Louis when a man she didn’t know began firing at her car, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

The gunfire reportedly struck the woman in the back and arm. She was brought to the hospital Tuesday in critical condition, though her condition has since improved to stable, officials said.

Authorities released an image Thursday of the suspect hanging out of the window of a silver Mercedes-Benz on the interstate.
