California police went on a low-speed chase to catch a tiny runaway — a Chihuahua named Ponch.

The dramatic pursuit was caught on video, shared by the California Highway Patrol on social media, showing the fleet-of-foot furball sprinting down the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge.

At least two police motorcycles trail behind the pooch with their lights flashing, trying to catch up with the speedster, who is seen running down the middle lane of the closed bridge.

“High speed pursuit on the Bay Bridge this morning!” the highway patrol tweeted Sunday. “One in custody. All are safe! #onlyinsf.”

They eventually wrangled the little dog and brought him to a San Francisco animal shelter to be examined, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The black pup had no form of identification, but was wearing a large tag with a silver skull on it.

Workers at the shelter are calling him Ponch for now, a reference to Erik Estrada’s character from the ‘70s NBC show “ChiPs” named Frank Poncherello, who was a California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer.

A female CHP officer took a photo with the dog in hopes of finding his owners.

“Missing a chihuahua? Little guy led us on quite a chase this morning on the Bay Bridge. Pls contact if he’s yours,” the CHP San Francisco unit tweeted.
