A depressed man flying to New York on Christmas morning locked himself in a Jet Blue plane bathroom and threatened to hang himself, authorities said.

The passenger, 37, was drunk and threatened to use his belt to hang himself on the flight from Oakland.

Crew members were unable to get him out of the bathroom.

The Jet Blue plane landed at JFK Airport at 7:20 a.m., and Port Authority cops took the man out of the plane twenty minutes later, according to a spokesman.

Despite his suicidal threats, his neck was not injured.

The man was taken to Jamaica Hospital for an evaluation, and is not expected to face charges, the spokesman added.
