Correspondent Veronica Miracle was on camera covering the unruly crowd when she suddenly ducked and turned away, gasping: “I just got hit.”

She could be heard coughing and gagging off camera, adding: “I can’t breathe.”

The incident occurred as hundreds of anti-ICE protesters faced off with federal agents outside the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building in downtown Los Angeles on Friday.

The protests were part of a “Nationwide Shutdown” calling aimed at drawing attention to the Department of Homeland Security’s immigration actions.

The LAPD declared an “unlawful assembly” and used pepper balls and tear gas to disperse protesters gathered for the “ICE Out” nationwide day of protest.
