A California student was the first American identified among those killed during Friday’s grisly terrorist attacks.

Nohemi Gonzalez, 23, who was described as “always such a friendly, energetic, bubbly person” by a classmate, was in Paris as part of a semester-abroad program.

Gonzalez, a student at California State University in Long Beach, was spending her time in Paris studying at the Strate School of Design. She was killed in one of the terrorists’ attacks on restaurants, NBC News reported.

“I lost the most important person in my life,” her boyfriend, Tim Mraz, wrote on Instagram, according to the Los Angeles Times.

“She was my best friend and she will always be my angel forever,” Mraz wrote. He called her “a bright soul and the sweetest girl with a smile on her face.”

A friend wrote on Facebook: “I swear this is a sick joke . . . I love you sunshine. You always seem to find the bright side of everything.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this sad time,” said Michael Uhlenkamp, a spokesman for the university.
