The illegal teen migrant who was given a slap on the wrist sentence for killing a Colorado drug rehab worker in a high-speed crash was arrested by ICE alongside his entire family weeks later.
The 16-year-old, whose name has not been publicly released because state law protects the identity of underage criminals, was nabbed by immigration agents on May 20.
“A 16-year-old citizen of Colombia, with a conviction for reckless driving resulting in death was arrested by ICE Denver officers last week and will remain in ICE custody pending an immigration hearing,” the Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office announced on X.

Officials found the then-15-year-old was driving a Jeep unlicensed and reaching speeds of over 90 mph in a posted 45 mph zone.
“As part of its routine operations, ICE arrests aliens who commit crimes and other individuals who have violated our nation’s immigration laws. All aliens in violation of US immigration law may be subject to arrest, detention and, if found removable by final order, removal from the United States, regardless of nationality,” a spokesperson told Fox News.

She suffered critical injuries and was placed in the ICU on life support for two days for her organs to be donated.
The teen was charged with vehicular homicide.
Earlier this month, he struck a plea deal with Arapahoe County District Attorney Amy Padden to lessen the punishment.
The teen admitted guilt in the deadly crash in exchange for two years of probation and 100 hours of community service as part of the deal.

The teen’s mom, who owned the Jeep, admitted she tried to move her son back to Colombia after the crash, but he wanted to remain in the US and file for asylum.
An ongoing asylum claim is currently in the court system, but ICE can still detain illegal immigrants before they’re are finalized.
Immigration officials ridiculed the leadership of Arapahoe County who gave the teen the lenient punishment.
“For the @DA18th, justice is no jail time and probation for this criminal alien who killed a young woman while driving more than 90mph. For ICE, justice is arrest and removal,” ICE Denver added.
Police investigate the crash as firefighters attempt to extract Weaver from her mangled car. Aurora Police DepartmentPadden addressed her controversial decision in a comment under a non-related Facebook post, focusing on the danger of speeding, only briefly mentioning the teen’s immigration status.
“We acknowledge Kaitlyn Weaver’s death was the direct result of a crash caused by an unlicensed teenager driving at nearly twice the posted speed limit. This tragic loss is a powerful reminder that it is not just alcohol or drug impaired driving that takes lives,” Padden wrote.
Weaver’s father blasted the domino effect in local and federal law that killed his daughter.
“We had a collision where the immigration system and the criminal justice system collided, and now my daughter’s dead,” Jeff Weaver told Fox News.
