The nightmare isn’t over yet for the victims of the July 2012 mass shooting in an Aurora, Colo., movie theater.
Thirty survivors and family members of those killed in the tragedy — which took place at a Cinemark multiplex during a screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” — are on the hook for $700,000 in legal fees after losing a lawsuit against the chain.
The plaintiffs filed the lawsuit in September 2012, citing negligence. A jury found Cinemark not guilty earlier this year, and now the theater is seeking compensation from the victims.
