WASHINGTON – Ousted FBI Director James Comey will testify Thursday in public about Russian interference in the US election.

The Senate Intelligence Committee announced that Comey will appear at 10 am on June 8.

When Comey last testified before Congress in March, he publicly revealed the FBI has been investigating Team Trump’s connections to Russia’s interference in the election.

Trump fired Comey in May and explained that the “made-up” Russia probe was on his mind when he made the call.

Before Trump fired him, Comey reportedly was pressured by the president to ease off the Russia probe. He refused.

The controversial FBI director kept a memo of a Feb. 14 meeting where Trump urged him to back down: “I hope you can let this go,” the New York Times reported. The reported exchange has since stoked outcry from critics that Trump tried to obstruct justice.

Comey will be pressed about his contact with Trump, but he may duck specific questions until a later 1 pm closed-door classified session with senators.
