Members of Congress typically strut through security at the Capitol and some of the most secure buildings in Washington.
But Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.) learned the congressional pin on his lapel doesn’t mean much to Cleveland concert security.
Cole didn’t have ticket to a convention after-party Monday night at the waterfront Jacobs Pavilion.
When a security guard wouldn’t let him in, Cole pulled rank.
“Well, I’m a member of Congress!” he was overheard saying.
A sympathetic stranger on the other side of the barrier saw what was happening and slipped Cole general-admission ticket, giving him entree to the concert, but not the pre-party booze and food.
