A Massachusetts cop sobbed in court Thursday as she and her husband faced horrific rape allegations lodged by a boy whom the couple took into their home.

Plymouth Police Officer Samantha Pelrine, 31, and her husband, Daniel Forand, 37, were arrested after Pelrine was mysteriously suspended from her job last week.

The couple began abusing the 12-year-old victim soon after he moved in with them in 2019, court docs alleged.

Pelrine was arraigned on charges including three felony counts of aggravated rape of a child with force and one count of aggravated statutory rape of a child.

Forand — who owns a local pest exterimnation company — was slapped with 20 charges, including rape of a child, indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Prosecutors asked for the defendants to be held on $250,000 bail, claiming they abused the boy from the time he was 14 years old until last year.

“The name for that is grooming,” the prosecutor told Judge Kristen A. Stone, according to the Boston Herald.

The couple’s attorney, Joseph Krowski Jr., argued they should be released on their own recognizance with a no-contact order given their strong community ties and no prior criminal history. According to public records, Forand owns Pilgrim Pest Professionals, the address of which is the couple’s home in Plymouth.

Stone imposed a $10,000 cash bail for Pelrine and $25,000 for Forand, the outlet writes.

Both accused abusers pleaded not guilty. They both face a statutory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison if convicted.

“We are appalled and deeply disturbed by the allegations. We hold our officers to the highest of standards and expect them to uphold their sworn duty both on duty and off,” the Plymouth Police Department said in a statement.

“Our primary mission is to safeguard the public’s trust and uphold the law. We value human life, fairness, integrity, accountability and professionalism. The conduct alleged is in violation of our values and of our basic principals [sic] a police officers to serve and protect.”

Forand, wearing a loose-fitting gray Carhartt hooded sweatshirt and handcuffs, bore a blank expression as he stood in Plymouth District Court to face the charges.

Pelrine, clad in a flannel jacket and wearing thick-rimmed glasses, bawled her eyes out during the arraignment.

Pelrine was placed on leave earlier this month after the alleged victim came forward with the sexual abuse accusations, claiming in a handwritten affidavit that Pelrine and Forand “both sexually assaulted me until 2025 and physically assaulted me until 2026.”

She was ordered to surrender her guns, ammunition, gun license and Firearms Purchaser Identification Card.

The accuser wrote that the physical assault was only committed by Forand, and reported that he met Pelrine and her husband through his aunt, who attends the same church as the couple, according to court docs.

The alleged victim was raised by his grandmother and aunt until he was 12 years old, when the couple took custody of the child and brought him into their Plymouth home.

They became the accuser’s legal guardians about a year later, and the alleged sexual abuse began shortly after they were granted legal guardianship and continued through 2025.

A 2023 Facebook post by the department celebrating National Women’s Month interviewed Pelrine, who joined the force in April 2022, in which she said she grew up dreaming of becoming a police officer.

“I believe I picked the right career for my personality and what I wanted from a job because while the range of emotions from this job can vary drastically, I know that in some instances I’m truly able to make a difference in someone’s life,” she wrote.

The Post reached out to Krowski but did not immediately hear back.
