The boat operator who was reportedly drunk at the wheel when a 19-year-old girl vanished in a Kentucky lake has been arrested.

Cameron P. Conley, 23, was taken into custody for boating under the influence after Kentucky State Police responded to a Wednesday call to help find Marly Kinney, who had gone missing in the waters of Grayson Lake that day, WOWK 13 reported.

The teen was last seen around 4 p.m.

While speaking with Conley, a trooper reportedly smelled alcohol and saw his eyes were bloodshot and glassy.

Conley reportedly said he had consumed alcoholic beverages, according to local news station LEX 18.

He failed a breathalyzer test, was placed under arrest on Boat Ramp Road at 5:30 p.m. and transported to Carter County Detention Center.

Conley faces one charge of operating a boat or watercraft while intoxicated or under the influence, a first degree offense.

Meanwhile, The Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources said first responders are still combing the lake and the surrounding areas for the girl who was partying with at least 10 friends when she dove overboard to use the bathroom and never returned.

Authorities have deployed sonar, thermal detectors, helicopters, K-9 teams and heat-seeking and underwater drones in the hunt for the missing Ashland teen, Lt. Chris Mulholland said, WSAZ reported.

More than 50 volunteers have also joined in the search, despite scattered rain showers hampering to find the girl.

The Kinney family is thankful for the extensive efforts to locate their daughter.

“We do not even know how to express our absolute gratitude to you all,” they told WSAZ3

“We continue to have faith she will be found and brought back to us.”

The search paused Friday night due to darkness, but it resumed on Saturday, the fourth day after the teen was last seen.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 911.
