Cops arrested a homeless man they believe is the “coast to coast bandit” who robbed several banks in New York and LA over the last two months, police sources said.

Jon Paul Waulters allegedly tried to knock over two Manhattan banks Wednesday before cops collared him around 4:45 p.m. on the Upper East Side, according to sources.

He’s raked in a total of roughly $8,000 at five successful stick-ups since March 9, according to the NYPD, which teamed up with the FBI on the case.

He got his name for hopping between New York and LA for heists, but he is perhaps best known for sporting Yankees and Mets caps during his hold-ups.

Cops found him with a cache of sports caps when he was arrested, as well as a phony gun he allegedly used to scare tellers into forking over cash, police sources said.

His head was bare as he was led from the 19th Precinct station house Wednesday evening.

“Come on guy, really?” said Waulters during his perp walk. Sources say has been living at the Bellevue Men’s Shelter on East 30th Street.

Finest nabbed him Wednesday following a string of attempted robberies on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

He tried to stick up an HSBC bank on Third Avenue and 68th Street, but walked away empty-handed — so he tried his luck at a Capital One on Second Avenue near 67th Street, sources said.

It’s not clear whether he got any dough in the second robbery attempt, but cops pinched him a short time after the second heist attempt, police sources said.

The man’s last known address was the Bellevue Men’s Shelter on East 30th Street, and he has been arrested for robberies in 2006 and 2009, police sources said.
