South Carolina authorities this week released the desperate 911 call made by the mom of 6-year-old South Carolina girl Faye Marie Swetlik, who vanished after getting off a school bus, and was found dead days later.
Faye disappeared Monday at around 3:45 p.m. from the front yard of her home in Cayce. Her lifeless body was found in a wooded area close to the family home Thursday.

“I need to report a missing child. We can’t find my daughter,” Selena Collins tells the 911 dispatcher on the call, released Friday by the Cayce Department of Public Safety,

“She was right in front of my front porch. She was playing outside. I can’t find her [inaudible],” the mom said on the call, placed at around 5 p.m. “She’s six. She’s going to be seven in June.”
The mom continues: “I checked all the houses in my neighborhood and anybody that’s actually answered is out looking for her too.”

Authorities said Friday that evidence found in a dead South Carolina man’s trash can links him to the child’s death. Neighbor Coty Scott Taylor, 30, was found dead Thursday in his Cayce home, not far from where the girl’s body was found.
Authorities are looking to track Taylor’s whereabouts around the time the girl disappeared, WIS reported.
Autopsies on the 6-year-old and Taylor are scheduled for Saturday.
