Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos on Thursday gave the clearest timeline yet on Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

  • 5:32 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026 — Nancy travels to go to her family’s home for a visit, to play games and have dinner
  • 9:48 p.m. — Her garage door opens
  • 9:50 p.m. — It closes — and cops believe that this is when she returned home and is going to bed
  • 1:47 a.m. Sunday — The doorbell camera disconnects
  • 2:12 a.m. — Software detects a person on camera, but no video available because “it loops” “We’re not done with that — we’ll do all we can,” he said, adding that it could have been an animal

  • 11:56 a.m. — Family checks on Nancy
  • 12:03 p.m. — 911 call comes in

Ten minutes later, officers arrived.

“We’re not confirming that any cameras were smashed or destroyed around the house,” Nanos said.

He said Nancy took an Uber to the family residence and officers located the driver and spoke with them.

He said they’re conducting follow-up around the home.
