A drug raid in Minnesota on Monday led to the seizure of $3.8 million of vaping cartridges containing illegal cannabis-derived THC oil, according to a report.

Authorities found 76,972 of the cartridges while executing a search warrant at a home in Coon Rapids, Minn., and arrested one man, according to CNN.

Also recovered was $23,000 in counterfeit money, authorities said.

It’s unclear if the man who was arrested was the homeowner. Charges against him were pending as of Tuesday afternoon, the report said.

The vaping bust comes amid a national epidemic of vaping-related lung illnesses.

At least nine deaths, including one in Minnesota, and over 500 cases of lung injuries associated with vaping have been reported in 38 states and 1 US territory, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The agency said that the patients in all the cases have a history of e-cigarette or vaping use.

The alarming statistics have prompted policymakers to act.

Earlier this month, the Trump administration announced a crackdown on flavored e-cigarettes — arguing they are too appealing to kids.

New York last week became the first state to ban the sale of flavored e-cigarettes with the exception of menthol and tobacco flavors.
