He’s trying to dance his way out of intensive care.
Heartwarming video shows a coronavirus-stricken Spanish man who hadn’t been able to move for 30 days taking his first steps — slowly dancing with a hospital worker covered in full protective clothing.
The patient, only named as Felip, was shown gently swaying to a ballad with his hands resting on the shoulders of a physiotherapist in a full bodysuit and protective face mask.
Another similarly decked-out worker stood next to them, also moving to the music as they stood in front of his ICU bed in Vall d’Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona.
The hospital’s video had by Wednesday been viewed more than 12,000 on Twitter — including by Sergio Dalma, the popular Catalan singer whose song they danced to.
The singer later posted his own video, saying he was thrilled that his music had helped someone “take another step towards recovery.”
Spain, one of the countries hardest hit by COVID-19, had seen 236,899 cases and 24,275 deaths as of Wednesday, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
