The deaths of a Florida couple has been ruled a homicide nearly eight months after their remains were discovered inside their burned home, according to officials.

Ariel Prim, 29, and her husband, Robert Cooper, 37, were found dead in July 2018 at their Ocala mobile home, which was “burned to the ground,” according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Firefighters received a call from a neighbor around 7:35 a.m. and responded to the scene, where they forced entry through two locked gates, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities discovered the remains while searching the scene, according to officials.

It wasn’t until December the remains were positively identified as the couple and their deaths ruled “suspicious.” The cause of death was updated Thursday to a homicide.

“Detectives are now asking for the public’s help in revealing any information that may bring some clarity to the suspicious circumstances surrounding their deaths,” the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any information that leads to an arrest.
