Toronto’s crack-smoking, reggae-loving mayor, Rob Ford, officially declared Thursday Bob Marley Day.

In his official proclamation, Ford called Marley one of the greatest ambassadors of peace the world has seen.

“He used music to tear down the walls of apartheid and promoted African unity,” said Ford, 44.

Feb. 6 was the birthday of the reggae icon, who died of cancer in 1981.
