Former fans of the “Romantic Homicide” singer are disgusted to learn their fandom helped propel D4vd to the top of Google’s list of trending musicians of 2025 amid a probe linking him to the homicide of a teen girl.
The singer D4vd beat out blockbuster artists such as Bad Bunny, Doechii, and Coldplay for the number one spot, while police investigate the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas-Hernandez, whose dismembered body was found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to the artist on Sept. 8.

Employees at the Hollywood tow yard reported a smell that turned out to be the decaying remains of the teenager.
Celeste Rivas-Hernandez’s body was found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to D4vd.
Some of the fans who ranked among the top 1,500 listeners on Spotify took to Reddit to lament the fall of their beloved artist.
“You couldn’t waterboard this out of me,” commented eggsworm.
“Safe to say I was heartbroken when the news came out ;-;,” r/d4vd2 posted to Reddit. “Until we get official word, I’m done,” the fan added.
Another mega-fan took to X, posting a meme of a skeleton falling over with the caption, “Spotify Wrapped soon and d4vd is probably my #1 artist…”

The artists “One More Dance” music video has 5.9 million views on YouTube. d4vd/YouTubeThe singer, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, 20, was on tour when news broke of the murder probe and was forced to cancel the remainder of his shows.

In his popular music video “One More Dance,” that has 5.9 million views on YouTube, the singer wore a bloodstained white button-down shirt and a blindfold.
The singer rose to stardom through TikTok, where he boasts more than 3.9 million followers. He played his first Coachella earlier this year with a memorable flop on stage after attempting a backflip and falling onto the stage.
D4vd has likely seen a surge in clicks since being thrust into the national spotlight surrounding the homicide investigation.
D4vd has not officially been named a suspect in the death investigation, according to the LAPD.
The cause of death for Rivas-Hernandez has yet to be determined, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner.
