Firefighters battling a wildfire raging through a Los Angeles home spotted ultrasound photos of the owner’s unborn son on the fridge — and grabbed the priceless pictures before the house was destroyed.
As resident Shane Clark, 28, sifted through the ruins of his Bell Canyon home, he said he was especially grateful to have the four ultrasound images.
“They’re the only copies we have,” he told the Orange County Register. “I’m very thankful.”
“We can rebuild, but the things they were able to take out were more valuable than the structure itself,” Clark said of the Los Angeles city firefighters.
The accountant and his wife are expecting their first child in about four months.
Clark’s cul-de-sac was hit particularly hard by the Woolsey Fire, with almost all of the homes destroyed.
The blaze in Southern California has destroyed at least 435 structures and displaced about 200,000 people.
