WASHINGTON — Stand­ing next to President Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron vowed Friday that the world would take on Islamic extremism “wherever it appears.”

“We face a poisonous and fanatical ideology that wants to pervert one of the world’s major religions, Islam, and create conflict, terror and death. With our allies, we will confront it wherever it appears,” Cameron said at the White House.

Cameron said British security experts believe a future attack in the UK is “highly likely.”
