A federal drug agent never lied to the government about his steamy relationship with a Brazilian stripper because it only got “hot-and-heavy” after he filled out his security clearance forms, his lawyer told a jury Tuesday.

“It is true that Dave got involved with a dancer at the bar,” said Marc Mukasey, the defense lawyer for Drug Enforcement Administration supervisory agent David Polos, referring to the Twins Plus Go-Go Lounge in Hackensack, NJ.

“But it did not get hot-and-heavy or deeply involved until after he filled out his security forms,” Mukasey told the Manhattan federal jury at the start of Polos’ trial.

In September 2011, it was merely a “flirtation-ship” or “a crush,” Mukasey said of the drug agent’s relationship with the Brazilian, who entered the US illegally.

Polos, together with DEA cellphone tracker Glen Glover, stand accused of lying about their ties to the seedy strip joint in order to maintain their security clearance. Polos, a high-ranking supervisor with the DEA’s elite New York Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Strike Force, has also been accused of hiding his relationship with dancer Andressa Delima because she was a foreign national.

“They lied,” prosecutor Paul Monteleoni said in opening remarks. “Neither of them reported anything — anything at all — about their work with the Twins Plus Go-Go Lounge.

“They were leading double lives. If they admitted what they were doing, their double lives were probably over.”

The government is expected to put a slew of bar employees on the witness stand this week, including Ken Lindenfelser, a lawyer for the Kearny, NJ, Board of Education.

Delima could also be called to the stand, sources told The Post.
