Francisco José Garzón Amo, the engineer of the speeding train that derailed last week in Spain, killing 78 people, is being held on suspicion of negligent homicide.

Garzón, who was going twice the 50-mph speed limit, left the hospital yesterday afternoon in police custody.

More than 200 passengers were en route from Madrid to Ferrol when the train derailed Wednesday.
