Miami residents received a fright when a demolition job turned treacherous after an unstable piece of concrete slid below to an active street, barely missing a passing car.

Viral video of the demolition shows a crane appearing to try and grab a massive concrete slab in one of the top floors of a building being torn down on Brickell Avenue on Saturday.

The crane, however, fails to get a hold of the slab as it tips away from it and plummets to the street below, with onlookers screaming in terror.

The concrete crashes into the construction barricade placed around the building, with the debris sent flying onto the road and nearly hitting a black car driving by — with a woman also turning and looking back at her near miss.

City officials said no one was injured during the incident, and that the demolition company in charge, Alpha Wrecking, was instructed to quickly remove all other unstable pieces from the building.

The demolition has since been ordered to stop, indefinitely, with police stationed at the site to keep residents away.

Miami Fire Rescue’s Lt. Pete Sanchez said that the building will remain standing until the city, owners and demolition company lay out a plan to tear it down without further incidents.

“They’re going to reassess this plan and make sure they develop a safer safety initiative to be able to demolish this building and make sure there’s no more incident along with it,” he told NBC 6.

The city said in a statement that it was holding an emergency meeting on Monday to ensure the safe demolition of the Brickell building.

Alpha Wrecking did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

The demolition is set to make way for the construction of One Brickell City Center, a new 68-story tall business building set to be completed by 2027.

It remains unclear if Saturday’s incident will push back the building’s completion date.
