West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin defeated GOP challenger Patrick Morrisey by 50 percent to 44 percent.
Manchin’s victory bucked a trend in West Virginia, which President Trump — who backed Morrisey — won by 42 points in 2016.
Trump had a MAGA rally with Morrisey on Friday and another event Monday with Donald Trump Jr. as part of his “Stand with Trump” tour.
