Democrat Ben McAdams ousted GOP incumbent Rep. Mia Love in Utah to flip yet another House seat for Democrats in a race that was called two weeks after Election Day.

The tight race was called as McAdams held fewer than 700 votes more than Love, just enough to ward off a recount.

Democrats have flipped more than three dozen seats across the country to regain control of the House.

“This race was about connecting with Utah,” McAdams said Monday night.

“This race was about who was best positioned to serve Utah and working to not get it caught up in a national, partisan election.”

Love, the only black female Republican in Congress, was seeking a third term.
