ALBANY – The state Senate Independent Democratic Conference has paid $27,400 to settle an investigation by the state Board of Elections into its failure to file timely disclosure reports in 2014.
The group, which operated as a PAC and an independent campaign committee, was required to disclose the spending by Aug. 18, 2014.
But it didn’t file until Aug. 27, 2014.
A lawyer for the IDC told Politico that the violation was “minor,” without explaining why it agreed to the hefty fine.
