Actor and Brentwood resident Dennis Quaid voiced his anger at Los Angeles city officials, saying it has taken way too long to get families back into their homes.

Quaid was in attendance to support ‘They Let Us Burn’ protesters Wednesday in the Palisades. Quaid has previously spoken out about his experience during the evacuation of the Palisades Fire, and said he “had it lucky,” but so many of his friends lost homes.

Armed with a poster that read, “You can’t tax ashes,” Quaid stood with a friend as several voices from the community addressed the crowd from a once-thriving city center in the middle of the community.

“Obviously, I mean this is our community, you know, for decades and we’d like to see it restored like it was for families to get back into their homes and get it done. You know, in a reasonable, quick way, which, we’re coming up against all these barriers and stuff that they shouldn’t have to come up against,” he told The Post.

When asked if the city and state are doing enough, Quaid responded, “No, no. They never were.”

“They weren’t doing enough to even prevent the fire from happening.”
