Former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick will decide on the future of his long-shot presidential bid Wednesday morning following a poor performance in the New Hampshire Democratic primary.
With 68 percent of the precincts reporting Tuesday night, Patrick, who entered the presidential race in November, garnered less than 1 percent of the vote.
The Democrat, a late entrant into the race, had said a strong performance was needed in New Hampshire to give his candidacy a shot going forward.
“We needed the winds from New Hampshire at our back to carry us on in this campaign,” he said.
Patrick said he will “make some decisions” Wednesday morning once he talks to his wife.
Two Democratic presidential candidates, businessman Andrew Yang and Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet, already ended their candidacies Tuesday once it became clear they had finished near the bottom in New Hampshire.
