Pancakes? Over their dead bodies!

Developer Domenic Broccoli wants to transform eight acres of land on what is believed to be the largest Revolutionary War burial ground in upstate Fishkill into Continental Commons, an “18th century colonial village,” said his spokesman, Greg Lane.

But Lance Ashworth, president of Friends of the Fishkill Supply Depot, said, “They are going to destroy an authentic historical site for the sake of building a cheap replica.” He said Broccoli told the town planning board he wants to include an International House of Pancakes.

But Lane insists, “Where the buildings are being proposed is not a burial ground.” An IHOP spokeswoman said it has “no approved plans to build an IHOP restaurant at the location.”
