Many US colleges — facing a drop in enrollment this fall despite an expanding higher-education market — are offering tuition discounts to vie for new students, Forbes magazine reports.

Among the 288 still seeking fall students are The New School, the University of Maryland and the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
