Michigan authorities have arrested a suspect for murder after hunters discovered a man’s body inside a trash bag earlier this month.
Joseph Robert Zoran, of Gaylord, faces open murder charges in the death of 67-year-old Robert Jack Counterman Jr., according to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office.
Counterman’s body was discovered on March 11 stuffed inside a large plastic bag and dumped in a ditch in Gratiot County, about 105 miles northwest of Detroit, according to police.
Deputies interviewed a person Friday in Gaylord which is the victim’s last known address, and the subject identified Zoran as a possible suspect.
Zoran was arrested after a warrant was obtained for his camper trailer.
Zoran was booked at Otsego County Jail, where is he is awaiting arraignment.
