This is the disturbing moment a driver dragged a dog behind her car in Hawaii for at least two blocks.
The horrifying incident happened on Friday around noon in Honolulu, according to Johnny Cheng, who captured video of the incident on his dashcam and uploaded it to YouTube.
Cheng was coming to a halt at a stop sign when a silver SUV rolled by, with the dog — apparently on a leash — somehow attached to the back of the car.
Cheng made a right turn, attempting to follow the woman behind the wheel. Two other drivers joined the chase, Cheng said.
“While chasing, we keep [pressing] the horn to attract her attention,” Cheng wrote in the video description. “But she does not seem to hear at all.”
“She is crazy!” he added. “She is out of her mind!”
Cheng wrote that he called 911, but the line was busy, and he was placed on hold.
Finally, Cheng and the other drivers managed to stop the woman at a red light. The poor pup then stood up and walked to the right, limping slightly — while still attached to the car. The dog did not appear seriously injured.
The video cuts out when the driver gets out of the car and appears to walk toward the pup.
“She came out, released the dog and put into the back seat [and] drove off without saying anything,” Cheng wrote.
It wasn’t clear how the dog ended up attached to the car — but Cheng posted Sunday that police later told him it may have been an accident and the driver brought the dog to the vet afterward.
