Assault charges were stunningly dropped against two anti-ICE protestors who allegedly assaulted federal agents while carrying loaded weapons outside a Chicago immigration facility.
The news comes as National Guard troops —mobilized by President Trump — deployed there Thursday to protect the facility
Ray Collins and Jocelyn Robledo, 31 and 30, had their felony charges dismissed Wednesday after a local grand jury refused to indict them, CBS news reported.

The couple — who are engaged — allegedly “refused to retreat” during a Sept. 27 protest outside an ICE facility in the Chicago suburb of Broadview.
A fracas ensued when agents ordered the protest to disperse. Robledo allegedly shoved officers, while Collins was accused of charging at them and leaving an ATF agent with an injured hand.
Both were also found carrying loaded handguns, though they were legally permitted weapons, ABC 7 reported.
Collins and Robledo were both released after their September arrest — with Collins briefly being held for bringing a weapon to a protest.

The Broadview ICE facility where the three were busted is one of the places where National Guard troops have been dispatched to protect federal immigration agents.
At least 45 members of the Texas National Guard are currently stationed at the Broadview facility after arriving Wednesday night, federal officials told NBC Chicago.
Troops have been seen patrolling the facility grounds within its fenced perimeter since they arrived.

REUTERSIn total, about 500 federal troops from the Texas and Illinois National Guard are expected to spend 60 days in Chicago guarding immigration enforcement efforts after federal agents began being accosted by agitators last week.
Some of those incidents involved convoys of cars boxing in immigration officers, and even ramming their vehicles.
Troops haven’t been seen within the city limits yet, but they were also spotted deploying to a facility in Chicago suburb Elwood on Tuesday.
The full deployment to Chicago is expected to begin within days.
