The Justice Department Monday warned companies not to discriminate against US workers while the firms seek H-1B visas for employees from overseas.

“The Justice Department will not tolerate employers misusing the H-1B visa process to discriminate against US workers,” said acting Assistant Attorney General Tom Wheeler.

The H-1B visa program allows companies to temporarily employ foreign workers in fields such as science and information technology.
