Dolan in the Holy Land
JERUSALEM — Upon his arrival in the Holy Land yesterday, Cardinal designate Archbishop Timothy Dolan trekked along the pilgrims’ path.
The head of the Archdiocese of New York, along with 50 other priests, landed in Israel and immediately embarked north to the Galilee region.
“This is a classic pilgrimage,” one church source said.
The nine-day trip will include stops in Jerusalem — including the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum — and a visit to Nazareth, Jesus’ hometown.
Dolan will be elevated to cardinal at a ceremony in Rome on Feb. 18.
