Prosecutors have identified the man who provided the financial backing for the David Ortiz hit, according to reports.

It’s unclear if Alberto Miguel Rodríguez Mota — who is still at large — simply funded the June 9 assassination attempt or ordered it as well, but court documents obtained by The Boston Globe allege that he’s the man behind the cash.

Ortiz, a 10-time All Star and three-time World Series winner, is still recovering in Beantown following the late-night shooting in his native Dominican Republic.

Filings obtained by the Dominican newspaper Listin Diario state that Rodríguez Mota helped orchestrate the murder operation with fellow suspect and local prison inmate José Eduardo Ciprian Lebrón, who is serving a homicide sentence. He allegedly put up the $7,800 used to fund the hit.

Ortiz, aka “Big Papi,” survived the attempted killing and managed to make it through two surgeries — one in the DR and the other in Boston, where he was later flown to.

So far, nine people have been indicted and taken into custody. They are expected to remain behind bars while the case unfolds.

Authorities believe the Ortiz shooting, which went down outside a nightclub in Santo Domingo, was a coordinated assassination attempt. Cops are still looking for other suspects, including Rodríguez Mota.

Prosecutors over the weekend promised to reveal the “full narrative of how the case happened,” including the name of the man who masterminded it. The alleged gunman, former New Jersey resident Rolfi Ferreira Cruz, has claimed that Ortiz was not the intended target.
