A drugged-out Utah mom deliberately locked her young son in a hot car as “punishment” for him misbehaving, according to cops.
Jesica Lee Brown, 28, was busted in Draper on Monday night following a 911 call about the 4-year-old who was locked in the car with the windows rolled up — with access to her drug paraphernalia and needles, according to Deseret News.
“It was approximately still 82 degrees outside as I arrived on scene,” the responding officer wrote in the affidavit. “I determined that the vehicle the child was in also was not turned on, and all windows were indeed rolled up.”
When officers found the mom, she told them her son had been “acting out,” so she locked him in the car as “punishment,” the report said.
The boy’s forehead “was hot to the touch,” he was visibly sweating and had puffy eyes, the officer noted in the affidavit.
Brown then admitted using methamphetamine and heroin, and police found drug paraphernalia in her purse and syringes in the back seat — where her son had immediate access to them, according to the report.
Brown was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Tuesday for child endangerment and child abuse.
