Two passengers aboard an easyJet flight from Copenhagen to Edinburgh, Scotland, have been arrested after a “violent confrontation” left the cabin full of blood and the crew in tears, according to a report.

Police were called to Edinburgh Airport after the plane touched down about 1:30 p.m. Thursday and arrested the alleged combatants, ages 28 and 42, according to the Daily Record.

“It was very frightening for this to unfold in midair. It was a violent confrontation and an area of the cabin was covered in blood,” one woman told the news outlet.

“The cabin crew did a great job to try to contain it. But some were reduced to tears because of what unfolded,” she added.

An airline spokesman said two passengers had behaved “disruptively.”

“EasyJet’s cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time,” the rep said.

“Whilst such incidents are rare, we take them very seriously, and do not tolerate abusive or threatening behavior on board,” he added. “The safety and well-being of customers and crew is our highest priority.”

The two suspects were charged with breach of the peace, police said.
