Eerie satellite images show that most of Puerto Rico remains without power in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

The night images, taken by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, compare Puerto Rico before and after the storm, illustrating how most residents remain in the dark.

“Satellite night images of #PuertoRico. #HurricaneMaria knocked out power grid, millions without electricity,” NOAA tweeted.

Hurricane Maria made landfall on the island as a powerful Category 4 storm and quickly knocked out power to the entire island. Officials say it will take months before power is fully restored.
