A wild elephant charged towards a group of locals in India before ramming into a parked motorcycle in a frightening caught-on-camera encounter Tuesday night, according to a report.
The small crowd in Malappuram were able to flee to safety in the nick of time before the elephant came barreling towards them around 8:30 p.m. local time, according to CCTV footage of the incident.
Dramatic footage of the scary scene shows the crowd of people gathering near some bikes by a stoop on a quiet, dimly lit street.
But what seems like a peaceful evening quickly turns into a near-death experience.
Onlookers take note of something approaching from afar only for their fears to be met by a loud roar. Footage shows locals scurrying away in different directions or finding shelter in a building.
Good riddance, too: a clearly-peeved elephant comes thumping into frame from parts unknown, crossing a two-lane street before lowering its tusk and taking its frustration out on a red motorcycle, sending it crashing into a stoop.
